So some might say that I've lost touch with reality. I prefer to think of myself as having had to run away from reality because reality sucks ass. But mostly I enjoy anime for the sheer uninhibited style and artistic expression the medium allows. While we live in an era in which big-budget special effects the likes of the Matrix are becoming the standard by which action films are gauged, anime has always given the author/director a nearly endless stream of possible effects limited less by budgets and more by artist style or creativity.

Just what is my fascination with anime anyway? I'd have to lay the blame on shows like Macross and Star Blazers. Like many a sci-fi geek, I've always enjoyed technology, big robots, space travel etc. And as a normal human being I've enjoyed comedy and drama. Blend the genres and you wind up with a lot of Anime ^^
